How Drywall Calculation Works
The calculator computes total wall area (perimeter × height), adds ceiling if selected, subtracts door/window openings, then adds 10% for waste. The result is divided by sheet coverage to get sheet count.
Formula: sheets = ((perimeter × height + ceiling − openings) × 1.10) ÷ sheet coverage. Joint compound, tape, and screws are estimated from total area at industry-standard ratios.
